In continuing their efforts of supporting the community at large and making an impact on the world around them, the members of the C.A.L.M Society found a way to do both at the same time…..celebrating the 80th anniversary of the N.A.A.C.P!
The evening was a who’s who of the local community with all political, community activists, business owners, school officials and residents of the area in attendance. Not to be outdone the members of the C.A.L.M Society , along with their husbands made a grand appearance and a strong showing by filling two tables at the sold-out event. And even more impressive was the visual impact they made by wearing their signature colors of pink and brown, also done by their husbands, showing complete solidarity of the group and its cause.
The C.A.L.M Society however is never satisfied with just doing the minimum, so not only did they attend the festivities, but was an active an integral part of them as well. By helping market and promote the event within the community, by stuffing envelopes, by wrapping door prizes and giveaways, by supplying teenage volunteers through their adopted mentoring program V.I.B.E, and by donating a $100 gift basket for the fundraising raffle, the ladies of the C.A.L.M Society were a part of the event from beginning to end.
The N.A.A.C.P was so thankful for the commitment and support that they received from A C.A.L.M Society that they took time out of their program to publicly recognize and thank them during the celebration. Overall the evening was an overwhelming success and a wonderful glimpse of the continued greatness on the horizon.
