CALM's Annual Bowling Fundraiser

The C.A.L.M Society under the direction of Mrs. Stacie Perkins and Mrs. Robyn Tucker showcased their talents in yet another area; fundraising.  On Saturday April 5th, the young people of V.I.B.E. (Voices Involved in promoting Black Excellence), I.M.A.G.I.N.E. (I’m A Girl Intelligent, Noble and Educated) rolled in Thunderbird Lanes with family and friends to enjoy a night of cosmic bowling.

The young people were excited to have fun while raising money for a worthy cause; themselves! The air was electrifying as they turned in their tickets for shoes and a spot on lane so they could get the night going! Balls were rolling, sometimes in places they should not have been but the laughter was contagious and heart warming!

The C.A.L.M. Society chose this first annual fundraiser to secure funds for the young people to attend the Black Male Development Symposium on May 10th as both groups combined, comprise approximately 160 students.  C.A.L.M. secured the lanes, bought the refreshments and gave the young people the opportunity to sell their own tickets and did they ever! The Children took their responsibility seriously and made us all proud!! Mrs. James, Co Founder of V.I.B.E was in attendance with her spouse to support the children and as always, they were thrilled to see their mentor and friend!

C.A.L.M. members all attended with spouses and family in tow to support the young people and had a fabulous time bowling for what was an excellent cause!
