On Sunday February 24th 2008, The Abington –Ambler Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi hosted its 2nd annual Sunday Soul Brunch. During the event, they took time to acknowledge individuals who distinguished themselves in the areas of Community Service, Mentorship and or Social Action.
The C.A.L.M. Society Founder Andrea Trainer was identified as having demonstrated exemplary service in her community, most notably in the realm of Child Advocacy, Social Action through the work of her Organization and the VIBE program in the Abington School District.
Mrs. Trainer was given the Soul of the Community award along with Rep. Josh Shapiro and Author/Activist Salome Thomas El. The event was well attended by dignitaries near and far but she was humbled to see many friends there including Mrs. Shirley Weiss and her husband Jack who sat front and center at her table.
The C.A.L.M. Society is proud of our Sister who has done exemplary work wherever she goes and continues to give unselfishly to anyone in need. Congratulations Andrea!
